At Hays Human Resources I am currently working alongside our Kingston based client who is currently seeking to recruit a HR Officer on a 6-12 month contract to start asap
Objectives/Purpose Of Job
To work with and support the HR Business Partners in delivering pro-active, high quality HR support to the Business.
European HQ, Kingston is the business hub for the EMEA region and as such, is the location for senior management teams covering both the Business
Through building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the business, you will help maintain the profile of the HR Team as a dynamic and commercially focussed Partner to the Business.
Key Activities/Responsibilities
HR Operations Provide an effective first line HR service to the Kingston based client group, working with country HR teams as necessary on regional matters
Focus on Process Excellence in executing on operational activities, ensuring compliance and efficiency across transactional HR activities
Maintain and ensure accuracy of HR data held within Peoplesoft (PSFT) and other databases
Responsible for managing headcount reporting and other PSFT reports as required; compiling data for analysis and highlighting areas for action
Work with HR BPs in ongoing review and maintenance of UK HR policies and procedures
Responsible for managing/updating content on HR intranet
Responsible for managing document storage and compliance with Data Protection requirements
Ensure documentation (letters; contracts; templates) is reviewed and updated as necessary
Employee Relations Compile casework for disciplinary, grievance, sickness and absence issues
Provide assistance with general employee queries relating to policy and procedure
Administer processes relating to maternity / paternity leave; exit interviews; flexible working applications
Work with HR BP to provide support, guidance and direction to managers on employee relations issues in line with local policies and procedures
Support HR BP with any change programmes for your business areas, including restructure and redundancy
Recruitment Provide first class service to Business Units on recruitment needs; working with Preferred Suppliers to manage the process for permanent hires from initial posting to offer and acceptance
Process owner for temporary/interim hiring needs
Support HR BP in all aspects of Recruitment process for roles at Manager level and above
Act as Induction Champion for new starters: develop and own the On Boarding process to ensure that all new starters experience Best in Class induction to the Company
Reward And Recognition Work with the HR BP and the Compensation team, participating in annual salary review process, including benchmarking; salary planning process and implementation of changes
Manage Awards process
Assist HR BP with preparation for annual Operating Plan, HR Budget and Headcount Plans
Assist HR BP with development and roll out of local incentive scheme for EHQ staff
Project Support Provide general and administrative support in respect of various HR projects, including
Reviewing processes related to managing the expatriate population
Preparation & running internal training courses (general curriculum & bespoke sessions)
Change management and organisation restructuring / headcount management
Support the HR BPs with any ad hoc HR Projects
Candidate Profile:
CIPD, or significant equivalent work experience required (applications from part qualified candidates who are completing their studies will also be welcome)
Extensive knowledge & utilisation of MS Office required
PeopleSoft experience preferred, although experience of at least one type of HR Management System is required
Solid experience of the full range of generalist HR activities
Excellent working knowledge of HR processes and procedures, gained through working alongside/supporting one or more senior HR Generalists
Demonstrable record of working within a team, supporting Generalist(s) in delivering projects and day to day activities to support the Business
Proven track record of operating as an effective HR professional within a similar organisational context; this role would suit an HR professional looking for more responsibility, and the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in providing client facing HR support
Experience of working in an international company required
