Our public sector client are looking for a proven HR generalist to offer a comprehensive service to a specific part of the organisation.
This is a highly desirable employer in the Nottingham area and an opportunity to join a well respected HR department

You will provide specialist advice and support to managers on Human Resources operational matters such as conduct and capability, grievance, attendance management, performance management, staff retention and redeployment. 
 
You will manage the absence reduction programme working closely with managers, staff and the Occupational Health team, to drive down absence levels and related costs. 
You will provide advice and support to managers on disciplinary and grievance matters to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Represent the HR function at disciplinary and grievance hearings where necessary, ensuring that proper records are maintained, preparing the documentation, arranging the meetings and overseeing the process. 
 
You will coach and support managers in the effective implementation of the Personal Development, review process and the subsequent employee training and development action plans. 

You will advise and participate in the recruitment and selection processes for appropriate posts
The role requires an individual who enjoys autonomy and responsibility, has confidence in their HR knowledge and a good awareness of HR policy and good practice.
You will be a strong communicator, keen to express your ideas and able to influence key members of the HR team.
You will ideally be CIPD qualified or working towards graduate membership, have a strong generalist background.
