A Manchester based Organisation within the Public Sector require a Temporary Human Resources Advisor to provide an effective HR service to managers and staff. Responsibilities will include-
- Providing advice to managers and staff on issues related to people policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
- Undertaking case work in relation to grievance, discipline and absence.
- To give full advice and guidance to managers in relation to employment law and its implementation.
- Manage the recruitment process, ensuring full compliance with internal procedures.
- Manage the Computerised HR Information System (Cascade), ensuring that it is up to date and fully utilised.
- Be responsible for monitoring HR KPI and monthly reporting.
- Manage the sickness absence process, initiating action with managers where necessary, guiding and advising on appropriate actions.
- Work with the HR Manager and OD Manager to develop and review HR Policies and Procedures.
- To undertake HR related project work.
- To ensure all payroll information is to passed to payroll in a timely manner. Ensure a complete audit trail for all payroll related information.
- Work with the HR/OD Team to develop initiatives to promote diversity within organisation, particularly within the makeup of the workforce.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.
The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified or equivalent, and have had previous experience as a HR generalist, extensive experience of handling case work and advising managers on a wide range of people related issues is also required
You will have a strong knowledge of employment law and it's application and ideally have an understanding of the TUPE process although this is not essential. Any experience of previous work within the public sector would also be advantageous. Familiar with dealing at a senior level you will also have excellent communication skills and a pro-active approach to work.
