North Warwickshire & Hinckley College

Human Resources Director
Nuneaton

Salary £47,898 to £50,814 + final salary pension. 43 days total holiday + other benefits

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to join the management team of North Warwickshire & Hinckley College. The College is based on two main campuses in Nuneaton and Hinckley, as well as outreach centres throughout North Warwickshire. The College’s recent Ofsted inspection graded the College as ‘outstanding’, which has since been supplemented by QIA ‘Beacon Status’. Today, North Warwickshire & Hinckley College has a staff of around 1200 individuals, a robust financial base with a turnover of £33 million and over 20,000 learners using its services each year. The challenge for the college now, is to move beyond ‘outstanding’ through its people.

The Human Resources Director will play a pivotal role in helping take the College forward by optimising how it deploys its committed and successful workforce and ensuring that the excellent relationship it enjoys with its staff and their unions are enhanced. This will require both embedding and further developing the considerable change in its staffing structures that it has recently introduced in response to changes in its funding environment. With a small operations team to manage, the Human Resources Director reports to the Vice Principal Resources and is a key member of the College’s management team, working in partnership to deliver processes that facilitate enhanced performance outcomes.

This job requires a high degree of maturity and self-reliance. It is considered that the role is best suited to candidates who, through their experience and achievements, can demonstrate a wealth of proven talent within a senior Human Resources management role. Educated at degree level and with a professional qualification, ideal candidates will have experience within a customer-focused organisation, in either the public or private sector, which has successfully responded to, and continues to adapt to, fast moving and dynamic change in its operational environment. The new Human Resources Director must have a customer-focused style and leadership attributes to support new levels of achievement right across the organisation.

Ambitious HR professionals will relish this opportunity of joining this professionally run organisation that places its staff at the centre of operations and supports their ongoing development.
