A leading healthcare organisation is looking for a Human Resources Manager to support the business.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that Operational Managers are provided with specialist advice and guidance on all aspects of employee relations, interpretation and implementation of current employment legislation, and implementation of Company HR policies and procedures, to enable them to effectively manage their people and to assist the Company to move towards its desired business objectives. You will be supporting managers in bringing about business change through effective and timely initiatives in line with best practice, agreements and legal obligations, ensuring that HR priorities are aligned to business requirements.
Your key responsibilities will be as follows: To assist with Tender documents and TUPE Transfers, support operational managers with branch structures and restructures and assist with branch closures and relocations. Advise, monitor, support, and challenge, Operational Management on the implementation of disciplinary, grievance and Dignity at Work policies, Equal Opportunities and all other legal requirements, Company procedures and best practice affecting employment. Responsible for liaising with Company solicitors in all legal matters affecting employment, and the preparation of timely documentation for Employment Tribunals, attending Tribunal as required. Working with Trade Union Officials where appropriate to improve and develop local industrial relations. This includes supporting local initiatives, cultural change, communication methods, appeals and grievance processes. Give specialist advice and support Operational Management on Appeals against disciplinary sanctions including dismissal, and also grievances, up to and including the final stages, as HR specialist and Company Management representative. Responsible for assisting with both the selection of Business Managers including developing interview and scoring processes, and also advising on and monitoring the delivery of cost effective advertising, recruitment, selection processes for all categories of employee. Manage and advise, and if necessary challenge, on labour turnover rates, and pro-actively work with operational management to improve retention rates for all levels of employee, giving positive solutions to meet agreed targets. Advise, and if necessary challenge, on both short term absence and long term sickness levels, and pro-actively work with operational management to improve on absence rates. Active involvement in all Long Term Sick Capability Terminations ensuring legal obligations are met. Develop and deliver HR training workshops on best practice and legal requirements of disciplinary, recruitment and absence management techniques to improve their confidence, capability and legal compliance, and so improve the effective management of their teams. Of graduate level (or equivalent) and CIPD qualified, you must have extremely strong HR experience within a generalist role. Further, it is important that you have experience of working with Senior Operational Managers and influencing their opinions. Experience of restructuring, redundancy, TUPE and trade union negotiation is highly desirable.
