A leading UK firm of Chartered Accountants are looking for a Human Resources Officer to join their busy 'hands on' Human Resources team of three to provide an excellent standard of HR service to the business.

This is a broad generalist role with a focus on graduate recruitment during the season. Reporting in to the Human Resources Manger, responsibilities will be as follows:

Graduate Recruitment:

To be proactive in providing timely and efficient graduate recruitment administrative support to meet the business needs. To undertake ad-hoc projects in relation to graduate recruitment.

* Screen all incoming applications
* Progress successful applications to the PSL testing stage and monitor responses
* Invite candidates in for first interviews, liaising with PA's to coordinate partner diaries
* At each stage of the recruitment processes ensure candidates receive relevant correspondence (progress or reject)
* Organise and arrange graduate assessment days and assist with the running of the days
* Ensure travel expenses and paperwork is dealt with in a timely manner when graduates attend interviews/assessment day
* Ensure adequate stocks of recruitment packs are available - liaise with Marketing Manager where necessary
* Review the graduate recruitment process and make improvement suggestions as necessary
* Develop relationships with graduate service providers e.g. Milkround Online, Prospects etc.
* Collate and analyse graduate data including vacancies, details of intake and tracking of applications and selection process and provide feedback to the business at appropriate times
* Conduct the Graduate Induction day providing information on the firm and the training programme specified for the trainees

Recruitment:

* To work closely with key people in client groups and provide a fast, efficient recruitment and selection service to ensure the right people are selected, keeping costs to a minimum
* Together with the HRM meet with Partners and Managers to ascertain recruitment needs and liaise as necessary with recruitment agencies
* Screen incoming CVs where necessary for support staff
* Involvement in first interviews for a variety of positions where required (fee-earning and support staff)
* Offering the successful candidates positions
* Working with the HRM, analyse and review recruitment activities regularly to make recommendations for continuous improvement and increased efficiency/reduced cost

Induction:

* Conduct first day inductions for all staff below partner/director level
* Work with HRM to review and continuously improve the induction process

Training & Development:

* Ensure managers conduct pre and post course briefing
* Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with 3rd party training providers ensuring all services are reviewed on a regular basis
* Communicate feedback to trainees regarding development needs established by training providers

Performance Management:

* Ensure HRA marks end of probation dates and ensuring HRA produces letters for staff
* Carrying out one to one counselling or coaching as required

Starters, Leavers:

* Oversee the joiner and leaver process
* Conduct exit interviews for all leavers, communicating the messages to appropriate department head for information and/or action
* Collate Exit Interview Feedback on a quarterly basis, highlighting key messages. Identify issues and trends and make recommendations for improvement where relevant

Reward and Transfers:

* Together with the HRM manage the annual salary review process ensuring external market data is provided to the business in advance of the decision process and produce and issue salary increase letters to every employee

Ad-hoc tasks and general duties:

* Together with the HRM monitor sickness absence and advise line managers on responsibilities
* To be the first contact for all maternity leavers and paternity requests generating associated paperwork
* Assist in the production of a monthly and quarterly reporting of key HR statistics

The ideal candidate will come from a professional services environment and will have solid operational HR experience. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and ideally be CIPD (or part) qualified.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and exercise sound judgement are a must for this role. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with all levels of the business.
