Interim Assistant HR Manager 6-12 Months
Based: North Bristol
Salary: c. £30,000 p.a.
Our client is seeking a competent Assistant HR Manager for a 6-9 month interim role, to be part of a team supporting an employee base of circa 2,000.
Key Responsibilities
• To lead the provision of professional HR advice and support to Service Managers in order to achieve business objectives.
• To be proactive in identifying HR implications and solutions to organisational/business issues, in particular through the effective management of change.
• The post involves the use of wide ranging HR skills including personnel, training, change management, employee relations and the development of expertise in specific areas, thereby providing a resource to the whole team.
Key Challenges
• To work closely with unions negotiating on various issues, e.g. changes of service provision, closure of departments, revised working patterns, but also employee termination of employment, including dismissals.
• Dealing with difficult situations in respect of personal and confidential issues, such as long-term sickness, redundancy/redeployment, regarding, managing disciplinary and grievance cases/harassment cases.
• Working with frequent interruptions, short deadlines and timescales.
• To work with managers driving forward significant change programmes.
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required
• Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent and to be fully CIPD qualified
• A minimum of 4 years generalist operational HR experience, 2 years of this experience gained post qualification.
• Up to date knowledge of key employment legislation, and effective HR practices and philosophies.
• Experience of facilitating significant change management issues within a large, highly matrixed organisation. Public Sector experience would be ideal.
• Experience of successful working within a unionised environment.
