We are looking for a Head of Performance for a 12 month contract on behalf of our client. The post holder will directly manage a team of four performance professionals, and co-ordinate a network of performance officers around the organisation.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Working to ensure that delivery arrangements in the partnership and the organisation are fit for purpose.
- Developing and managing the operation of the organisation's performance management frameworks.
- Ensuring a full understanding among managers of how targets will be met: responsibilities; effects of actions; resource issues; and risks.
- Management of monitoring arrangements, drawing together performance data and action plans.
- Ensuring the integration of performance, risk and project management tools.
- Ensuring that targets agreed in the corporate plan are sufficiently challenging yet deliverable.
- Identifying areas of poor performance and developing tools for constructive improvement. With a recently implementation of a new performance reporting system, there is ample opportunity over the next year to use this to drive forward the quality of the monitoring and reporting.
Due to the fast pace and momentum in this area of work, we would ideally seek to have a candidate in post early in the New Year, with interviews scheduled for the 2nd week in December.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills in the following area's:
- Ability to lead in performance management in a complex business environment
- Experience of identifying and ensuring the resolution of examples of poor performing services
- Experience of conducting and communicating sound analyses of performance issues
- Excellent written communication skills
- Able to identify both short and long term performance issues from large datasets
- Substantial leadership, management and supervisory skills
- Have an understanding of the importance of data quality in performance management and the achievement of continuous improvement of the quality of information
- Experience of preparation and presentation of reports and/or written information to senior managers Key Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication, numerical and organisational skills
- Clear thinking with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a busy environment
- Have an understanding of equal opportunities policies and their effect on the delivery of the responsibilities of this position
- Ability to work on own initiative
