This client is market leader in the area of Wealth management. With the ability to draw on expertise from their entire group they provide a unique service to their clients. They are looking for a Learning partner to work as part of the L&D team to diagnose, analyse, prioritise, source and evaluate the businesses development needs and related solutions. You will be an advisor, both to management and HR colleagues, on all aspects of people development and performance improvement.
Core accountabilities
Business Partnership 45%
* Develop a thorough understanding of the business objectives. Contribute L&D expertise to the interpretation of learning needs in the planning process.
* Support the development of a Learning & Development strategy for the business that builds upon the L&D strategic approach for Wealth Management.
* Deliver short, medium and long term capability requirements for the business area, diagnosing needs, making and identifying value added interventions to develop organisation capability.
* Delivery of solutions within agreed timescales, / tight deadlines to ensure effective programmes are delivered quickly and at pace.
* Creating and managing Learning and Development plans to build capability at all levels of the business, e.g. individual, team, function.
* Manage the flow of information to and from the business and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
* Provide the business with valuable advice, guidance and input on day-to-day L&D issues.
* Be actively involved in all aspects of the talent development of individuals within the business, working closely with colleagues across L&D to ensure a cohesive approach is taken.
Relationship Management & Communication 20%
* To continually raise the profile of the L&D function, enhancing the regard with which it is held through quality of advice & service delivered.
* Working closely and seamlessly with fellow HR Business Partner(s) who cover the same business area(s).
* Understand the various stakeholders /strategic roles within their business area and their common needs.
* Revise, refresh and gain business sign off to a communication plan that markets the value and expertise provided by the L&D function.
Management & Delivery of Learning Solutions 20%
* Effective delivery of learning solutions, at pace to exceed client expectations
* Working closely with the business head(s) identify and gain agreement to the priority learning needs of the business area covered.
* Working with external suppliers to deliver bespoke learning programmes for business / departments.
* Customisation of central programmes to fit the bespoke needs of the business area.
* Manage the design and delivery of learning solutions, engaging with L&D centres of expertise where appropriate.
* Manage the allocated budget to ensure best value for money is obtained in delivery of the prioritised business learning & development needs, working with all areas of L&D function to ensure we maximise synergies and deliver the highest quality of learning interventions available.
* Evaluate and measure the business impact of L&D interventions providing commentary, supported by MI, that demonstrates the value delivered by L&D.
* Maintain professional knowledge and internal product/services knowledge.
* Work with the business to tailor generic training content to reflect nature, culture and needs of the business.
* Undertake ad-hoc local delivery as and when required.
L&D Team Working 15%
* Contribute to the L&D function by leading or working on major developmental projects and activities that impact the wider business, i.e. across the Group.
* Participating in development of the L&D budget and costing plan and value contract management.
* Continually share activities, best practice and ideas with fellow L&D business partners and colleagues.
Requirements
* Highly skilled in design and delivery of L&D interventions
* Solid understanding and / or experience of financial markets and major asset classes
* Financial qualifications
* Well developed coaching skills
* Well developed organisational diagnostic skills/techniques
* High level of internal consultancy skills and facilitation skills
* Effective negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
* Stakeholder management expertise
* Ability to work under pressure, self discipline and motivation
* Proven organisational skills
* Effective team working across several teams
* Well honed presentation skills, being capable of engaging varied audiences to impart knowledge
Professional/technical experience
* Experience in commercially focused Learning and Development role
* Demonstrable success of building organisational capability
* Experience of working across multi locations
* Experience of managing budgets
* Client engagement and stakeholder management
* Experience partnering/managing external consultants/solution providers
* HR background (wider role)
