Key Responsibilities

Reporting into the Training Services Controller the focus of the role will be to identify, design, deliver, evaluate and record such methods of training for the Vocational and Key Skills training programme. You will work closely with HR colleagues to ensure that all staff engaged operate at an optimum level of work, willingness and efficiency and obtain the highest possible level of job satisfaction.

Duties include:
·To oversee the Vocational Qualifications (VQ) and Key Skills programme and carry out all necessary tasks to ensure that the contractual agreement with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) is met.
·To identify training needs, deliver, evaluate and record training sessions.
·To advise on VQ training opportunities
·To attend, as required, meetings with management in order to retain an up-to-date knowledge of operational matters.
·To maintain effective communication with Line Management at all levels in order to further good relationships, and to achieve the maximum standard of training efficiency so that benefits derived from such training result in the improvement of staff performance, sales and profitability through the relevant divisions.
·To develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge in all matters relating to training, especially all legal requirements, security and systems requirements, Society policies and procedures.
·To keep up-to-date with policies and practices within other progressive organisations.
·To identify, with Line Management, employees with the potential for further training or promotion and to make the necessary recommendations to senior Management.
·To maintain records and statistics on all training planned and delivered.
·To monitor, as required, all managers' use of Individual Training Records.
·To undertake other duties as required by the Personnel and Training Manager or the Senior Personnel and Training Officer in conjunction with other divisions.
·To submit a weekly programme and journey plan and advise of any changes to this.
