Mountain View, California – GooodJob, pioneer of a breakthrough approach to social recruiting via employee referrals, has won second place in the first-ever startup competition at the Recruiting Innovation Summit (RIS) 2012. The competition, which took place at the Computer History Museum during the two-day RIS on May 17-18, featured six finalists whose early-stage platforms offered solutions to a wide range of recruiting issues.
Each company was given ten minutes in which to present a live demo of their product in front of a panel of judges and attendees. GooodJob was represented by Assaf Eisenstein and Laurie Spieler, GooodJob’s CEO and VP Sales respectively. The judges, Jason Warner, Steve Boese and Ethel Chen, deliberated over specific criteria, including the viability of each product’s market and target strategy, the industry void each product is seeking to solve, and particulars about the business model. Citing a difficult decision process, they pronounced GooodJob as the second-place winner, with UK-based Mystery Applicant winning the first place.
Public recognition of GooodJob’s philosophy and platform was ever-present at the summit. Specifically, attendees were enthusiastic about the inclusion of gamification elements into the employee referral program, the user-friendly interface, and the opportunity to put the employees at the center of the program. Master Burnett, emcee of the competition, spoke afterwards with Eisenstein and Spieler, expressing his belief that GooodJob’s approach used the building blocks of recruiting to offer a professional and effective solution to the deficiencies in current referral programs.
“GooodJob has come so far and we are thrilled at what we have accomplished,” said Eisenstein. “Our platform is here to change the face of referral programs, and this vote of confidence by the judges and the fantastic people we met at RIS shows just how much people are prepared for this revolution.”
GooodJob’s social referral platform enables companies to motivate employees and reward their referral efforts, while leveraging their social media networks to reach top talent. The platform introduces innovative tools which help employees easily and quickly make referrals, and allows the HR department to seamlessly track employee participation. By signing up only once, employees can automatically share their companies’ future vacancies with their entire Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter networks, leading to a sea of passive candidates whom employees would never have thought to initially approach – including a bevy of 2nd and 3rd degree connections. In addition, employees can submit candidate leads without attaching complete resumes. This feature is especially powerful when used with GooodJob’s mobile app – employees can spread the word even when they are together with their friends outside of the office.
