And The Winner Is… The Investors in People Awards 2019!

On 19 November at Old Billingsgate, London, overlooking the Thames and Tower Bridge over 750 guests donned their best ball gowns and tuxedos for The Investors in People Awards 2019; celebrating the organisations and people that make work better.

This year Investors in People brought Las Vegas to London where there was live music, dancing, magic (from 2016 Britain’s Got Talent Winner and 2019 Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions Finalist Richard Jones) , great food, a Las Vegas themed dance group, a casino (seriously) and even the iconic Las Vegas sign (double serious)! Okay, so not the actual sign. But close enough.

People flocked from around the world! The UK, Australia, Africa, Cyprus, UAE, Turkey and the Philippines to name a few, arrived for a drinks reception and spectacular 4 course dinner.

And that was before the real entertainment got under way.

Looking dapper in his tuxedo, Investors in People CEO Paul Devoy, welcomed guests with a heartfelt speech encouraging the audience to keep up their commitment to make work better. And to spread that message far and wide!

Paul went on to promote the difference it makes when you invest in your people: “for the benefit of every person in every workplace, for increased productivity across organisations, and for a stronger, healthier and happier society.”

It was a tough act to follow, but legend of the comedy circuit Russell Kane gave it his best shot, and had the audience in stitches with a suitably international routine. Once the audience had recovered, Russell went on to host the main event of the night – The Investors in People Awards 2019 themselves.

There really was something for everyone with categories ranging from Learning and Development to Technology, from Reward and Recognition to Health and Wellbeing to name but a few.

Building services consultancy Troup Bywaters + Anders kept up their brilliant track record by winning for a fourth year in a row, this year lifting the trophy for Best Apprenticeship Programme.

And TaskUs won for a third year in a row, this time taking The Social Responsibility Award (over 500 people) back to the Philippines.

Dinner. Check.

Awards. Check.

Party time…

With dinner and the awards out of the way the guests celebrated with live music and dancing, before they  flocked to the casino tables to gamble with Investors in People’s own branded money. (Note to successful gamblers: not legal tender)
