Comment on My crazy first promotion. In London, 1983 by Gail H Whipper

Hi Greg,
Reading this article brought back similar memories. I worked for Alfred Marks on the corner of East Castle and Regent Street WI. There were 4 recruiters a temp op and an assistant. After many goes at trialling new managers they finally gave me the role. The office was miniscule and a cup of coffee in the cafe next door was the interview room and ‘get the sack’ room. We smoked all day, disco music blared and our jobs were delivered by messenger twice daily. Monday morning you would have about 6 temps crushed into the office whilst the anxious staff tried to get them working. Thank God for City and Guilds who always needed temps after a weekend.
So many stories and so exciting !
