Comment on The candidate response that nearly made me cry by Chris Sale

It’s undoubtedly the case that there’s a race to the bottom. Candidates get more frustrated by recruiters and send out CVs without bothering to read the ad requirements and therefore recruiters don’t bother to respond. And of course there is laziness on both sides too. I think it’s dangerous to make judgements though: either all candidates get responses or none do! Otherwise you’re actually spending more time deciding whether the candidate is ‘worthy’ of a reply: if you apply logic to it’s conclusion ANYONE who doesn’t meet the specified job requirements shouldn’t get one because they’ve wasted the recruiter’s time!
