The firm at the centre of the British Airways travel chaos has refuted allegations made in today’s newspapers.
Gate Gourmet UK said the allegations made by today’s Daily Mirror about a plan to deliberately provoke industrial action are false and the document mentioned was drafted by managers who are no longer at the company.

Current management ignored the plan and its recommendations, considering them as highly inappropriate and undesirable, the firm said.
Eric Born, chief executive of Gate Gourmet UK, said: “The recommendations within previous managers’ proposal were sheer lunacy. Clearly, stories like this are planted in newspapers to try to derail the negotiation process by people who have no interest in safeguarding jobs at Gate Gourmet.”
