workers of the future will change jobs 19 times during their lives, according
to new research.
The
report, by vocational awards body City and Guilds, says the internet will play
a key role in people switching careers as online education will mean people can
easily retrain.
Longer
life expectancy and pension under-funding will also have an impact. Many
workers will look at ways to top up their income during retirement, says the
report.

It
forecasts that five million people – 20 per cent of the working population –
will be planning a career change in 2025, double the current figure of 2.5
million per year.
