The
Government has published more than 250 measures to help combat bureaucracy
across business, charities and public services.
The
Regulatory Reform Action Plan brings together reforms from across Government
and is aimed at reducing red tape.
The
measures range from simplifying complex fire safety legislation to speeding up
the planning system and freeing up teachers to innovate in schools, through to
making everyday tasks such as renewing your driving license easier.
Putting
the plan into action will be the subject of a cross-Whitehall seminar at
Downing Street and will be delivered by various types of legislation:
–
63 reforms will be delivered by Regulatory Reform Order.
–
48 measures through primary legislation, with or without supplementary
regulations
–
59 by secondary legislation alone
–
11 by European legislation
–
57 by administrative change, including guidance
