It has been brought to our attention that the 2018 judging panel for the Personnel Today Awards is not representative of our audience nor of the wider HR community, specifically that there are no BAME judges.
We acknowledge that this is unacceptable, and as a publication which promotes and reports on diversity and inclusion, we are very sorry that on this occasion we have failed to meet our own standards.
In recent years some judges have been unable to accept their invitation to join the panel and, when recruiting replacement judges, we have failed to ensure adequate representation. It is entirely our responsibility to make the judging panel reflect not only the profession but also the working public. We will be taking active steps to fulfil this commitment henceforth.
