Over 70,000 Post Office staff around the country are taking part in a training programme backing the £1bn drive to get touch-screen technology into the UK’s 19,000 post offices.
The programme is being undertaken in partnership with KnowledgePool, the IT services subsidiary of ICL.
To date just over 13,000 out of 72,000 employees have been trained and the project will be completed by spring 2001.
The so-called Horizon project will see the new system go live to 300 new post offices each week.
