RAD Awards 2019 winners: Pink Squid take Work of the Year for Capgemini campaign

Recruitment advertising agency Pink Squid won Work of the Year tonight at the RAD Awards 2019 for its “Active Inclusion” campaign for Capgemini.

Having already won the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative and Video Campaign categories, the work went on to win the overall prize at the glittering awards ceremony on London’s Park Lane.

The videos used in the campaign captured the judges’ attention as they featured no faces, just voices set against imagery. They were described as “arresting” and “honest” and commended for showing that there was still work to be done.

More than 900 professionals from recruitment communications, media and HR attended the annual awards in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel. Comedian Rob Beckett entertained guests, before announcing the winners of the 17 categories.

Accord Marketing CEO Sally Winfield, chair of the judges for the RAD Awards 2019, said: “Tonight’s winners are producing thought-provoking, creative and original work that takes recruitment marketing to a whole new level.”

Professional services firm EY and its agency MSL walked away with three RADs, while other winners included Vodafone (4MAT), Marks & Spencer (AIA Worldwide) and the Department for Education (Carat).

Richard Andrews, director of the RAD Awards, said: “It’s been an amazing night. The quality of the creative work has been second to none. All our winners and runners-up should be very proud.”
