Host Leadership book gains recognition at two International Book Awards

Two management experts Dr Mark McKergow and Helen Bailey have received new recognition after their book ‘HOST: Six New Roles of Engagement for teams, organizations, communities, movements’ was awarded finalist status in two separate awards.

HOST, which focuses on the new yet ancient concept of leading as a ‘host’ was named a finalist in the Business: Management & Leadership category of the International Book Awards 2015, and in the Business Motivational category of the Indie Excellence Awards 2015, cementing its position as a leading management text on an international level.

Strong relationships are the key to successful leadership, and in such a fast paced, technology driven society, leaders appear to be stepping back, not forward. ‘Host: Six new roles of engagement for teams, organizations, communities, movements’ reveals a new way to think about business leadership from the perspective of being a ‘host’.

The National Indie Excellence Awards, based in Los Angeles, aims to help establish independent publishers and authors, and is judged by independent experts from all aspects of the indie book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters.

The International Book Awards has become the next great promotional vehicle for authors and publishers to launch their careers, open global markets and compete with talented authors and publishers throughout the world. 2015’s awards included over 80 categories and saw over 1200 entries from authors and publishers around the world.

Speaking of the book’s award success Mark said:

“It’s fantastic not only that ‘Host’ has being recognised by these awards, but that the idea of Host Leadership is being discovered by new people on an international level, and that more and more leaders are seeing real improvements in their organisations as a result.”
