Redwigwam says “innovative thinking” is key in building post-Covid19 economy

The UK’s leading flexible working company has broadly welcomed Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s statement.

Lorna Davidson, Founder and CEO of Liverpool-based Redwigwam, said: “Innovative thinking is going to be absolutely critical in getting the UK back on track after Covid-19.

“We welcome the creation of the £2bn scheme to create job placements for young people as well as the incentive for employers to bring back furloughed staff. However, the key will be how these schemes are administered as many businesses are facing severe short-term cashflow challenges.

“We are also pleased to see the additional support being given to the hospitality and tourism sectors which continue to be so badly affected by the pandemic.

“Despite these measures, there remains the very real likelihood that millions of people will not be able to return to their old jobs as employers struggle to recover from the economic fallout of the pandemic.

“We are seeing this from the volume of people of all ages registering for flexible work with Redwigwam to provide them with new income and opportunities.

“We have also seen a huge rise in the number of employers using our platform as it allows them to flex their hiring to recruit people for ad hoc or temporary roles as they require them.”
