Occupational health nurse Cynthia Atwell was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours for her services to healthcare.
Atwell is the chair of the RCN’s Society of Occupational Health Nursing and retired in December 2007 from the post of senior teaching fellow in OH at the University of Warwick where she helped set up the Diploma in OH Practice.
“It is wonderful news for her and for occupational health,” said Caroline Whittaker, senior OH lecturer at the University of Glamorgan and a former colleague at Warwick.
