Just a glance at the agenda for the annual RCN Society of OH nursing conference reveals the incredible breath of knowledge covered within the OH discipline.
Among the wealth of plenary and concurrent sessions was a vast mix of topics, ranging from the views of chairman of the HSC, Bill Callaghan, on the future of OH, to the personal experiences of two nursing students studying for a degree in occupational health.
As is our usual practice at these conferences, we asked many of the speakers to submit their papers to OH for publication so they could share some of their experiences and learning with a wider OH audience – many of whom can’t spare the time or indeed are given the opportunity from their employers to attend.
And as it’s the beginning of a new year, can we extend that invitation to any readers of Occupational Health who may have considered submitting a paper with a view to publication but have dismissed the idea of seeing their work in print as just too daunting an ambition. Most practiced OH professionals routinely write reports or presentations in the course of their work, so previous knowledge of article writing isn’t desired.
