Olympic Delivery Authority for 2012 Games in London puts health and safety as top priority

The Olympic Delivery Authority said its number one priority in the run-up to the London 2012 Games is health and safety.

The Olympic Delivery Authority and its delivery partner, engineering company CLM, will project manage the entire infrastructure of the Games.

Olympic Delivery Authority chief executive David Higgins said: “It is not just about reducing risk and injury but promoting good health in the workforce. Health and safety is at the heart of our planning for the project and I am very pleased that CLM have committed to our health and safety standard.”

CLM chief executive Ron Brooks said: “Our role as delivery partner is to ensure that all work meets the highest possible health and safety standards.”

The Olympic Delivery Authority’s health and safety standard was published earlier this year and includes on-site health checks for construction workers.
