Employees keen to sleep on the job

Tired employees say they would like to be able to nap at work.

Research by Portfolio Payroll recruitment firm and law firm Peninsula, found that 88 per cent of workers often get tired at work, leading 59 per cent to say they would like a daily siesta at work, with 20 per cent saying they would like one sometimes.

Danny Done, managing director of Portfolio Payroll, said: “Many researchers have realised the potential with siesta’s and seen how employees working in Spain – where the tradition of siesta’s originated – have a higher energy level and do not seem to suffer from the tiredness levels which have plagued the UK workforce for so long.”
