Specsavers Corporate Eyecare is offering a free guide on the Health and Safety Display Screen Equipment Regulations.
The 1992 Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations (amended in 2002) require employers to provide all employees who use visual display units (VDUs) with eye tests, when requested, and glasses, if required.
Research from Specsavers has shown, however, that one in five companies either do not have, or do not know if they have, an eyecare policy for their staff.
Experience has shown Specsavers that employers and employees alike are still misunderstanding the regulations and their implications.
