Specsavers has been named the most trusted brand of opticians by British consumers, for the eighth year in a row. The results of the well-respected Reader’s Digest European Trusted Brands 2009 survey will be invaluable to decision makers in HR who need to be sure that they are working with trusted suppliers.

Specsavers received 45% of the votes – more than twice as much as high-street rivals Boots and Dollond & Aitchison combined. Results for ‘Share of Vote’ in the survey’s optician category were as follows:

Specsavers – 45%
Local/Independent/Private – 17%
Boots – 13%
Vision Express – 9%
Dollond & Aitchison – 8%
Tesco – 2%

Jim Lythgow, director of strategic alliances for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare says, ‘We are very proud to have received this accolade for the eight year running. It is vitally important to us that our customers trust in our quality of service and our understanding of their needs. It is equally important that companies who are offering our service to their employees feel safe in the knowledge that their staff’s eyecare is in good hands.’
