Health and safety and occupational health (OH) groups across the country had their hard work recognised in January.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ Alan Butler Awards for Excellence applauded the work of groups belonging to the society’s Safety Groups UK network.
The Northern Ireland Safety Group and Swansea and West Wales Occupational Safety Group were joint winners of the best overall category, while Avon Occupational Safety and Health Group was highly commended.
South Cumbria Occupational Health and Safety Group won the award for best support for Health and Safety Executive priority topics.

Nottinghamshire Occupational Safety and Health Association won the category for best seminar or workshop, while Suffolk and North Essex Occupational Safety Group was highly commended.
The Scotland Safety, Health and Environment Forum won the best communication category, while Herefordshire Health and Safety Group and the Lea and Ouse Valleys Safety Association were both highly commended.
