The review will focus on the Ill Health Retirement Benefit and NHS Injury Benefit schemes. It will also explore how staff sickness and injury can be better prevented, how NHS occupational health services can be improved, and how injured or ill support staff can be better supported to take on alternative duties or work part time.
Jeremy Orr, NHS Employers’ project manager, said: “We wanted to take the opportunity to take a holistic approach to managing staff sickness and injury.”
