Bruce Daisley, vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at global social media organisation Twitter, will deliver the opening keynote address at Employee Benefits Live 2019, speaking on employee motivation.

Daisley’s presentation, titled “Bringing happiness into the workplace”, will open the two-day event’s conference agenda on Tuesday 1 October 2019.

The keynote will delve into current research findings from psychologists and neuroscientists to uncover what HR, benefits and reward professionals can learn in terms of how to motivate and engage employees.

Daisley will also discuss his experiences working at leading technology organisations, such as Google, YouTube and Twitter, exploring whether these commonly labelled ‘employers of choice’ have the answers to the employee motivation question.

Daisley, who promises an entertaining session with key learnings to take away and implement immediately, said: “I had a real excitement for trying to get to the bottom of what makes us motivated at work.

“A lot of us might feel [that] to attract the next generation of [employees], we need to be giving them more perks; we need to be giving them yoga rooms, massage rooms, free food. My fascination became how we could actually motivate people despite that, or in the absence of those things.

“I wish more leaders would take more of an interest in the mechanics of human relations and motivating their teams.”
