A new occupational health clinic for London Fire Brigade firefighters was opened in June close to the brigade’s Southwark headquarters.
Run by OH provider Health Management, the clinic will include case and clinic management IT systems, a physiotherapy suite, air-conditioned consulting rooms, audio booths and fire-fighter-specific functional hearing tests. It is expected to manage 50 cases a day.

The opening was attended by members of the London Fire And Emergency Planning Authority’s HR and equalities panel as well as the brigade’s HR director Barbara Riddell and head of HR James Dalgleish.
The Chief Fire Officers’ Association, meanwhile, is in the process of developing an occupational health network group, website and national strategy to share best practice on workplace health.
