Can you advise how to manage the process of an international transfer, 2 way exchange or secondment with a non-related, but same industry company.

Does anyone have experience of working in Dubai? We are permanently transferring an employee from the UK to Dubai and would like to know about the tax angle and the implications of who employs them. They will work for a sister company of ours.

Think carefully about what happens after the secondment. What does the individual come back to and with what expectations. If they are going overseas what happens about their base country pension. Do you maintain it on a hypothetical salary or match the secondment figure. Consider medical benefits and ensure the individual is not disadvantaged if they go to a location which does not provide as generous cover. Maintain contact with the individual and ensure they are kept abreast of developments with their home organisation. Happy to answer more questions carole.harden@btinternet.com
