Troubled
Anglo-Dutch steel firm Corus is to make another 1,150 workers redundant.
According
to Sky News, Corus said it will not close any of its big plants, but will
spread the losses around its smaller factories.
The
job losses come after previous cuts of 10,000 staff – made by the company in an
effort to bring down costs.

Corus
said it will focus steel production on three plants, at Port Talbot, Scunthorpe
and Rotherham, and that its Teesside plant is at risk of closure, a move that
would cost a further 2,200 jobs.
