The
GMB union has called off next week’s scheduled strike at Securicor Cash
Services following an improved offer by the company.
The
new offer guarantees that limited voluntary single-person cash delivery routes
must first be approved by a union health and safety assessment.
In
addition, the company has improved its pay offer to 15 to 27 per cent over
three years.
A
driver currently earning £5.75 an hour will see their salary rise to £7.17 an
hour. The company’s original offer was just 2.5 per cent.
The
GMB will ballot its members with the new offer and recommend acceptance of the
deal that applies to 6,000 staff in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern
Ireland.
