Airport operator BAA has appointed Fiona Rodford as its new director of human resources.
Rodford has joined from bank Alliance & Leicester, where she was director of human resources for four years. She replaces Gordon Rae at BAA.
Prior to joining Alliance & Leicester, Rodford worked for organisations including high-street retailer House of Fraser, restaurant chain Whitbread, wholesaler Booker, and travel agency Thomas Cook.
Current group secretary at Alliance & Leicester, Simon Lloyd, will pick up the additional title of group HR director at the firm, starting next month.
“Simon has considerable experience dealing with HR issues,” a spokeswoman told Personnel Today.
Stephen Nelson, chief executive at BAA, said: “I am delighted to be joined by Fiona Rodford, who brings considerable strength to the new BAA management team at one of the most important points in the company’s development.”
BAA recently announced plans to cull up to 2,000 jobs as part of a cost reduction exercise. It also plans to close its final salary pension scheme to new members.
