The
Transport and General Workers’ Union has called for an investigation into an
incident which saw 20 workers at Dounreay, Scotland, contaminated with
radioactive particles.
Chris
Kaufman, T&G national secretary, said: "An investigation by the Nuclear
Installations Inspectorate is required. The T&G believes the focus should
be on whether or not there was proper management control in place and whether
or not there are sufficient people employed to ensure safety standards are
met."

organiser John Taylor, said: "Clearly something has gone wrong here. We
will be in consultation with our members to listen to the concerns they raise
with us."
