CBI calls for business travel as usual

The
CBI is encouraging businesses to travel again following last week’s terrorist
attacks in America.

Director
general Digby Jones said that all but one of the 30 trade association officials
meeting at the CBI yesterday had agreed that businesses should attempt to get
back to normal.

Jones,
who plans to go ahead with a personal visit to the US next week to promote
British high-tech engineering, said, "I would like to think that people
throughout the business world will give a lead."

A
number of large UK employers including BP and Unilever have temporarily
curtailed travel plans, according to a report in the Financial Times.
