Public sector staff face 3 per cent pay rises

Public
sector workers are to only get pay rises in line with inflation this year,
press reports claim.

The
Times said that hundreds of thousands of public sector staff – including
teachers and army personnel – will this week learn they will receive annual pay
increases of around 3 per cent.

Around
440,000 teachers will get a rise of just under 3 per cent, while Armed Forces
staff will get just over 3 per cent. Inflation stands at 2.9 per cent.

Senior
civil servants and judges will also see their salaries rise by around 3 per
cent, claimed The Times.
