Working environment the key to recruitment, claims research

Good
employee relations are the best way to convince candidates to join a company,
according to research.

Thirty
per cent of the 780 recruitment managers who responded to the Robert Half
International survey claimed that a friendly working environment and employee
autonomy are the best ways to attract candidates.

Nineteen
per cent said financial benefits and career opportunities were good ways of
convincing candidates while 16 per cent referred to quality of management and
continuous training.

The
survey also found that human relations are considered to be the best way to
motivate employees with mobile phones and company cars are the most popular
benefits used by HR departments to retain middle managers.

Traditional
recruitment techniques such as press adverts are the most commonly used
recruitment methods. However more than seven out of ten have already dealt with
an application via email and 25 per cent of European recruiters believe the
Internet will be the major recruitment tool within the next 15 years.
