Tube drivers vote for more strike action

Tube drivers on the London Underground have voted by a margin of six to one in favour of yet more strike action.

The action by members of the RMT union is over claims that there has been a “serious breakdown” in industrial relations between staff and London Underground management.

The RMT has accused London Underground of ignoring agreements, imposing changes without negotiation with the union and imposing punishments that are too harsh.

London Underground has denied all these accusations.

London mayor, Ken Livingston, has accused RMT leaders of using strike threats in a union election year because “the more they get their charming faces on the telly, the moreƒthey think they can get votes from their members”.
