Business education lacks global dimension

Colleges
and universities need to focus much more on global business training as
companies increasingly operate across international borders, according to new
research.

A
survey of executives in 20 countries by the London Business School (LBS) found
bosses were worried that while companies big and small have globalised, new employees lack a global outlook.

Chief
executives questioned in the survey said they were increasingly looking to
recruit from around the world and were encouraging international internships
and exchange programmes.

Laura
Tyson, dean of LBS, said:  “Flexibility,
cultural sensitivity and integrity are key attributes of tomorrow’s global
business leaders. The hard commercial reality is that business schools have to
change.”
