England’s
police forces are facing a multi-million shortfall in funding that may result
in staff cuts, the Conservative Party claims.
Tory home affairs
spokesman David Davis, released a survey that shows Kent
facing a £19m deficit, Norfolk
£7.8m and Suffolk
£6m in the next financial year.
Davis
said the lack of cash could lead to fewer police officers on the beat.
The Association of Police
Authorities said the figures sounded "too pessimistic" but admitted
that there was a funding gap which could affect the front-line.
