B&Q staff share cut of £34m bonus

Staff
at home improvement chain B&Q will be sharing in a record £34m bonus payout
– a fifth more than last year.

Around
34,000 of the company’s staff across more than 320 stores and head office have
accumulated an average pay-out of ten percent, the highest ever bonus paid out
by the company.

Full-year
retail profit at B&Q – part of the Kingfisher group – rose 12.8 per cent to
£372m in 2003-04, contributing to this year’s record dividend.
