HR professionals have mixed feelings over their job security

Most
HR professionals feel secure in their jobs and do not fear redundancy in the
next six months, claims a new survey.

An
HR Gateway site survey of 375 visitors found that 36 per cent of respondents
feel ‘very confident’ they will not be made redundant. A further 29 per cent
are reasonably confident about their job security, but 24 per cent are not
confident at all and 11 per cent expressed doubt.

“As
the base in the UK in manufacturing declined and services took over, the role
of HR was always going to grow,” said Charles Cotton, adviser on reward and
employment conditions at the CIPD.
