JP
Morgan has ended ‘dress-down’ Friday’s and ordered traders and analysts to
smarten up.
The
financial services company institution has reportedly told bankers to shave
properly, shine their shoes and iron their shirts.
The
Evening Standard said workers have also been banned from using games consoles
at work or taking notes on hand-held computers during meetings (they are
required to use traditional paper and pen).
A
memo from the bank’s head of corporate access, David Hitchcock, tells traders
to show "a professional face at all times".
The
memo pointed out that, in some cases ‘dressing down’ had led to ‘total dress
collapse’.

"Shaving,
polishing your shoes and being smart add to the professional tone," said
the memo "Also, any good electrical shop will sell you a steam iron. Some
of the various management comments on people’s sartorial standards are
embarrassing. Try and smarten up."
