Police
in London are again sponsoring the official Chinese New Year celebrations as
part of its drive to recruit more officers from ethnic minority communities.
The
Met’s Positive Action recruitment team will also unveil a specially created
mural depicting life in London’s Chinese community.
For
the third year in succession, the Met will sponsor the event and be on hand to
offer advice on a career in policing.
Follow-up
sessions will be held at a Chinese community centre where candidates can start
an application on a one-to-one basis.
The
event takes place in central London on 2 February.
