The
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has granted the Open
University Business School (OUBS) official recognition for its Professional
Certificate in Management.
The
accreditation means that the 1,600 students who have completed the Certificate
since November 2000 will automatically be granted licentiate membership of the
CIPD.
Professor
Roland Kaye, OUBS Dean said: “It [CIPD accreditation] gives the qualification
recognition from one of the leading professional bodies and will bring an added
cache to those who already hold the certificate as well as giving additional
impetus to current and potential students.”
OUBS
students will be granted affiliate status of the CIPD while they study the
Certificate. On successful completion they will be granted licentiate
membership. If they go on to complete additional modules, they will be granted
graduate membership of the CIPD.
