Gender
diversity amongst senior Civil Service employees is improving, according to a
government report out today.
Senior
Civil Service women have increased by 7.5 per cent to 25.3 per cent since 1998.
Others
areas of the service do not fair so well, however. Overall the proportion of
women in the service has increased by just 0.3 per cent to 51.3 per cent.
And
while the number of ethnic monitories in the service has increased by 1.5 per
cent to 7.2 per cent, only 2.3 per cent of senior positions are staffed by
people from ethnic minorities – up only 0.7 percent since 1998.

Disabled
staff at the service have reduced by 1 per cent in three years and has only
increased by 0.3 per cent in senior positions.
