Underground says it is disappointed with the RMT decision to stage a 24-hour
Tube strike next week.

safety director Mike Strzelecki urged the RMT to reconsider its action in the
interests of the 3 million people that use the Tube each day.

a ballot turnout of just over a third, the majority of RMT members who work at
the Underground have voted not to strike.

Crow claims that the safety consultation process has been inadequate. But this
process has been one of the most extensive consultation exercises of its kind
and far exceeds the provisions originally agreed with the HSE.

"We
would urge the RMT to take a more responsible attitude, come to the table and
talk to us about specific concerns rather than holding Londoners to ransom over
"issues" they themselves have so far been unable to detail."
